Giants on the charge

Giants to win battle of the forwards

Stevo Posted 24th June 2010 view comments

It was a great fight back from Huddersfield in their last outing when it looked as though Hull would tear them apart. Great credit to Huddersfield to get out of that hole and that will certainly do their confidence a lot of good.

They seem to have got their co-ordination back with their forwards setting up a solid platform and then their halfbacks gelling well.

Brett Hodgson is in top form as is David Hodgson who has scored 19 tries this year, and we all know the qualities of Kevin Brown who will still be cock a hoop after making his England debut a few weeks ago.

They are certainly back to scoring tries which is very pleasing for coach Nathan Brown. The last few weeks they have not only not been scoring tries but have been shipping them as well.

Hull KR, well their biggest problem this year was been defence but Justin Morgan has sorted that out. They really rely on the quality of Ben Galea and Michael Dobson who were so impressive against quins last week. The battle between Luke Robinson and Dobson is going to be great to watch

This should be a real ding dong battle - both have got big forwards who will want to cause some damage. If there were any doubts about Hull KR, well their forwards have got a bit of age about them.

It is going to be a very close game and I think both coaches will be happy about where their teams are - mentally both teams have got their momentum going.

This should be a real ding dong battle - both have got big forwards who will want to cause some damage. If there were any doubts about Hull KR, well their forwards have got a bit of age about them. When they fire they are very good and are a match for anyone, but can they do it week in and week out? It is also vital that you reserve some energy when playing KR as they can be susceptible in the final quarter. Fitness really does tell at this time of year.

Star man: Michael Dobson: The Giants will win this if they can shut down Dobson. But that is not going to be easy. He is such a good player and always manages to give himself that extra bit of time and space that he needs.

Stevo says: I think it is going to be a very tough game but I will have to favour Huddersfield to have too much power in the final quarter.
