Brighton striker joins skysports.com

Pro Life Posted 4th September 2008 view comments

Firstly I would just like to say how great it is that I am joining the skysports.com team for the coming season.

I am looking forward to reacting and giving my thoughts throughout the season.

Looking to our start - well it could not be better could it? We are undefeated in six games including a couple of cup matches and the whole club is very upbeat at the moment.

Personally I have not been involved as much as I would like, and I am disappointed I have not started.

But don't get me wrong - my situation is totally different to last season. I have had a really great pre-season with the new gaffer, which has reinvigorated me.

Last year the boss, who I have known since he was youth manager - seemed to have a set opinion of me and that is hard to change and, to be honest, something needed to give as I don't think I would still have been at the club if he was still here.

I am not saying I was happy for him to leave, but a new boss was what I needed and Micky Adams has come in and breathed a new lease of life into the club and you can see from the results the impact he has made and I really did not want to think about leaving Brighton - so I am delighted to still be here and enjoying my football again.

Obviously when a new manager comes in, they bring their own signings in and it was always at the back of my mind that they were likely to get the chance to start and that is what has happened, but they are all good lads and good players and are producing the goods.

I know I need to bide my time as I will get my chance and I have to make sure I am ready and grasp that opportunity. I am really confident I will do well this season.

Aldershot

I also wanted to say a quick something on Aldershot. I actually spent time on loan with The Shots earlier in my career.

When I was there they were flying high in the Conference, but I was recalled when they were in second or thereabouts - then they lost in the play-offs and I really felt for them.

Since then I have always kept an eye out for their results, and I was chuffed for them when they came up.

A lot of things and players have changed since I was there, but it is great for them to be in the league and I am sure they will do well.

Well that is my first blog done, I look forward to joining you throughout the season.
