The fourth and final Test match of the Australia-India series saw just the 11th occasion when the side batting second overtook a total of 500 or more and the Indian total of 526 was the fifth-highest to be overtaken.

The highest score ever by a side batting first who have suffered a first innings deficit was 588 for 6 declared by South Africa at St John's in 2004/05.
West Indies then countered with 747 of which Chris Gayle scored 317.
Benedict's bumpers
Irfan Pathan became the seventh Indian and 50th player overall to achieve the double of 1000 runs and 100 wickets.
It took him 28 matches, which makes him the sixth quickest to the milestone. The fastest was my Sky Sports colleague Sir Ian Botham who took just 21 Tests to achieve the all-rounder's "double".
India skipper Anil Kumble conceded 109 runs in Australia's innings at Adelaide. This was the 52nd time that he had conceded triple-figures in a Test innings, which equals the world record held by fellow spinner Muttiah Muralitharan.
Those two are well clear of third-placed Shane Warne, who conceded more than 100 runs on 40 different occasions.
Cow corner
Ricky Ponting's innings of 140 was his 34th Test century, which drew him level with Sunil Gavaskar and Brian Lara in second place in the all-time list.
The only man ahead of him is Sachin Tendulkar, whose century at Adelaide was his 39th in Test cricket and his 80th in all international cricket.
Michael Clarke reached a milestone making it to 2,000 runs in Test cricket - the 48th Australian to reach that landmark.
Virender Sehwag's innings of 151 was the ninth consecutive occasion on which he has converted a century into a score of over 150.
The highest score among his first four Test centuries was 147, but since then - dating back to December 2003 - all his subsequent three-figure scores have been large ones.
Spare a thought for Andrew Strauss, who has yet to pass 150 despite having scored 10 Test centuries.
