It's hit or be hurt

Give Brady room and he'll cut you to pieces, Bucs

Ian Allen Posted 20th October 2009 view comments

Well, well, well! I know some of you have been wondering when will I run my mouth on Sky Sports about the NFL this season and some have said good riddance to me. Well look no further fella, you found him!

To start off, I don't think many people thought that the Denver Broncos would have an undefeated 6-0 record at this point in the season nor think that the New England Patriots would have lost two games. That just goes to show that anything can happen in the National Football League.

Brady: can the Bucs put him under pressure?

Brady: can the Bucs put him under pressure?

This week's match in London between the Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will arrive with a few key turning points, a couple of them being the Patriots trying to find their place in the NFL (are we a super power or not?), and the Bucs trying to make sure that they do not duplicate a winless season like Detroit.

As we all know, Tom Brady and co went bananas against the Titans displaying a pound-for-pound ****kicking, and then pulled their starter and allowed their rookie free agent QB to get in on the action and gain some valuable experience.

Inconsistent

But just a few weeks back, they lost to the Jets in New York, one game that when you look at a schedule, most people would have counted as an automatic victory for the Pats. Ahem!

It's not rocket science ladies and gentlemen, hit Tom Brady and make him uncomfortable or he will surgically tear you apart - and do it with a nice and cordial grin on his face.

There is one main reason that I'd like to point out as to why the Pats have been somewhat inconsistent, and that is the QB hits that Tom Brady is taking.

You could see the trend developing back in 2007 when the Eagles were laying the wood on my man Brady, and the Giants followed suit with five sacks, nine hits, and eventually won the Super Bowl.

It's not rocket science ladies and gentlemen, hit the guy and make him uncomfortable or he will surgically tear you apart - and do it with a nice and cordial grin on his face.

Even though Tampa has Jimmy Wilkerson, who is on pace to have a double digit sack year, I don't think that will be enough to put enough pressure on Tom, who potentially may not be in an as hostile of a crowd environment as if he was in Tampa.

Pressure

Also you have to remember that the Bucs got rid of the underperforming defensive end Gaines Adams, depleting their depth further.

Now whether or not Gaines underperformed or not, that is a whole other discussion that I would be more than happy to have, but just not right now.

There is no need to go into Tampa's offense because basically, they have quite a bit of work to do.

Bottom Line is this: no pressure on Tom Brady, look to see another blowout, and I think even with the pressure, it will only make the score a little more respectable when the clock reads double zeros.

Patriots win decisively unless the Bucs pull out some of that NFL 'Any Given Sunday' magic.
