Jamie Carragher - Jamie Carragher Posted 4th August 2014 view comments

Sky Sports expert Jamie Carragher may be off your TV screens for now, but he's still finding ways to have his say on all of the big football stories.

The former England defender has been using his ever-entertaining Twitter account to deliver his verdict on the summer transfer business involving his old club Liverpool and the other top Premier League sides.

Read on for a snapshot of what he's been saying on his @Carra23 account - and don't forget he will be back on your screens, alongside Gary Neville, for the first Monday Night Football of the new season - Burnley v Chelsea, from 7pm on Monday August 18 on Sky Sports 1.

The return of Didier Drogba

Carra has played many times against the returning Blues hero...

... but thinks Jose Mourinho has signed him as much for his personality as his goal threat.

He can't wait to see if he will be involved in the first Monday Night Football of the season against Burnley

And he thinks Drogba could be part of a title-winning jigsaw for Mourinho this term.

Frank Lampard moves to the MLS

Carra has backed his former England team-mate to continue his success after leaving Chelsea

But who was the greatest midfielder of his generation - Lampard, Gerrard or Scholes?

Romelu Lukaku signs for Everton

Carra says the big Belgian has done the right thing by leaving Chelsea...

... but he says Everton's star signing should get a better shirt number

Liverpool sell Luis Suarez to Barcelona

Jamie reckons his former club had little option, but to let Luis Suarez leave this summer

He believes Premier League sides will always struggle to hold on to players when Barcelona and Real Madrid come calling

He praised Brendan Rodgers for getting the maximum value for a player that is banned for the opening months of the season

He believes Raheem Sterling could help to fill the goalscoring void

And he says Everton will be glad to see the back of the Uruguayan

Liverpool sign Dejan Lovren for £20million

Carra is a long-time admirer of Liverpool's new centre-half

He says the fee is high, but could be worth it in the long term.

And he's concerend about what the St Mary's exodus could do to Southampton!

Steven Gerrard's international retirement

Carra says his old mate was right to call time on his career with England

He says it's good news for Liverpool, but not so good for Roy Hodgson

He explains that the England manager will find it hard to identify the next skipper

Although Wayne Rooney has a strong claim for the armband

Everton's Ross Barkley could be the man to take his midfield berth

And he recalls the famous FA Cup Final of 2006, when Gerrard was arguably at the peak of his powers...
