Ryan Moore took the Racing UK-backed award for this week's top jockey at Goodwood when reaching eight wins for the week with a double initiated by Minding in the Qatar Nassau Stakes.

Only Richard Hughes has won more races at the five-day Festival - nine in 2010 - and Moore signed off with a double courtesy of Minding and Lockheed on Saturday, following his treble on Friday.

Moore received a lifetime subscription to Racing UK, a £1,000 donation to the charity of his choice, and a deluxe Goodwood hamper - the jockey chose to split his charitable donation between Great Ormond Street Hospital and Daily Mirror correspondent David Yates's bike ride around Yorkshire, which was in aid of the Injured Jockey's Fund's Jack Berry House.

Mark Johnston was crowned the leading trainer at the meeting for the 10th time following the victory of Hawatif in the seven-furlong Qatar Handicap. Johnston was registering his fourth winner of the week and his 70th Festival winner overall.

The Middleham handler remarked: "We thought we had a good start at the beginning of the week and then Sir Michael Stoute and Aidan O'Brien had winners so we knew we had gone behind but we needed that fourth win because we were well ahead on the places [five seconds and four thirds].

"It is my favourite week of the year. Royal Ascot is the best racing week of the year anywhere in the world but Goodwood is a great shop window for us and I love to come here. I honestly enjoy the racing more. If you were bringing someone from abroad you should bring them here to see the best of British racing. It's so exciting and a great spectacle."
