Capitaine could make a quick return to action after he appeared among 14 entries for the totescoop6 Premier Kelso Hurdle on Saturday.

Fourth in the Dovecote at Kempton on Saturday, he is not in the Cheltenham picture and Paul Nicholls is considering sending him on the long trip from his Somerset base.

The champion trainer told www.paulnichollsracing.com: "Capitaine was a little bit free in front in the Dovecote Hurdle at Kempton before keeping on to finish fourth.

"He should improve for the run and while Cheltenham is not on his agenda he just might be out again quickly as part of our team heading to Kelso on Saturday.

"I've felt all along that we will not see the best of Capitaine until he goes over fences."

Nicholls has also entered Persian Delight, while his former assistant Harry Fry might run Chalonnial.

Nicky Henderson has entered the unbeaten Top Ville Ben, with Ben Pauling having given the promising Le Breuil the option.
