Wuheida has Royal Ascot option

Charlie Appleby is not ruling Group One-winning filly Wuheida out of making an appearance at Royal Ascot.

The twice-raced three-year-old daughter of Dubawi was forced to miss her intended return in the Qipco 1000 Guineas after sustaining a stress fracture in the build up to the race.

Although plans still remain fluid for last year's Prix Marcel Boussac winner, who holds entries in next month's Ribblesdale and Coronation Stakes, the Newmarket handler has reported her recuperation to be going well.

Appleby said: "She is doing well. She is back in light exercise and is jogging. We are pleased with her progression, but she still has a long way to go as yet race-fitness wise.

"We have kept quiet about her and we will be a lot wiser at the end of the month as to where we are with her.

"We will just build her up each week. It is the sort of injury where we might build her up, then have to come back again before we can go forward again.

"She will tell us when she is ready. She has progressed and things have been going well since the start of her recuperation. She is doing what is being asked of her and taking it well.

"I am not saying that she is going to go to Ascot, but at the same time I am not saying she won't go there.

"If I had a crystal ball I would be able to tell you when she will be back, but I am not going to make any statements yet."
