Creggs Pipes to head to Canada

Creggs Pipes could head to Canada in search of top-level glory following her victory in the Group Two Lanwades Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday.

Trainer Andrew Slattery has pencilled in the EP Taylor Stakes at Woodbine in October after advice from jockey Declan McDonogh, who steered the five-year-old to a convincing victory over Opal Tiara.

Having worked her way through the ranks, Creggs Pipes could have her first crack in Group One company in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh on July 2.

Creggs Pipes also holds an entry in the Group Two Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot on June 21.

"She's come out of her race in great form. We're either going to go to the Duke of Cambridge or to the Pretty Polly," said Slattery.

"We are also half-thinking of going to the EP Taylor in Woodbine.

"Declan just thought the race would suit her. He's ridden a few fillies that have been placed in it and he thinks the race would be tailor-made for her.

"She'll have a run first. There's just over a week between Ascot and the Pretty Polly, so it will be one or the other.

"We might keep her here for the Pretty Polly and work from there.

"Now she's got that Group Two win, if she could be Group One-placed now that would be even better, in a race like the Pretty Polly."
