John Gosden and jockey Robert Tart completed a double at Haydock on Saturday after The Black Princess gave her trainer a seventh success in the Group Two bet365 Lancashire Oaks.
Following on from Zenon's impressive handicap victory in the opening mile and three-quarter contest, The Black Princess came with a similar late run between rivals to collar 6/4 market leader Abingdon inside the final furlong and record a half-length triumph.
It represented a return to winning form for the daughter of Iffraaj, whose two previous wins this season had come in France and was second to Blond Me when sent off favourite for the Middleton Stakes at York's Dante Festival.
Gosden's three most recent Lancashire Oaks scorers were Gertrude Bell (2011), Great Heavens (2012) and Pomology (2014), two of which went to be placed in Group One company - Great Heavens winning the Irish Oaks at the Curragh on her very next start.
