Magical Memory could have his attentions turned towards an All-Weather Championships qualifier next month after swerving an outing in Saturday's Qipco British Champions Sprint at Ascot.

The five-year-old could tackle the Listed Golden Rose Stakes at Lingfield on November 18, with victory in the six-furlong heat providing an automatic place in the Betway Sprint Championships Final back at the Surrey track on Good Friday.

Sam Hoskins, racing manager to owners Kennett Valley Thoroughbreds, said: "He is being considered for the All-Weather Championships. I doubt he will be on the go all winter, but there is a fast-track qualifier at Lingfield on November 18.

"We've been thinking about it for a while. He is an amazing horse and I don't think he has had much luck with the ground this year.

"It looks like it will be on the soft side at Ascot on Saturday with the rain that is about and we want to run on decent ground and I think if we are looking for a good alternative, this is it.

"He has never run on the all-weather, but I think it will suit him. He has got plenty of speed and if you don't try it, you won't find out if he goes on it.

"He would have to carry a penalty in that race, but if he was to win it he has Good Friday as an option then and that would be a good starting point next season. If he didn't win, I don't think we would go ahead through the winter."
