Graham Wylie hopes Tidal Bay can be placed in the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup.
The owner was at Doncaster on Saturday to see his enigmatic performer work with stablemate Arcalis after racing.
Tidal Bay produced a typically quirky display to finish second in the Argento Chase at Cheltenham last time and the owner said: "I think he has got a good chance of being placed in the Gold Cup, it depends what Tidal Bay turns up.
"He could go off the pace from the back of the pack and run up the hill like a sprinter. It depends how close Brian (Hughes) can get him at the second-last.
"He's a frustrating horse, but I'm sure he will give us a good day out."
