Cecil ace as good as ever

Tom Queally is confident Midday will again have the legs of Snow Fairy in the Stobart Ireland Pretty Polly Stakes. Sir Henry Cecil's charge was a three-length victor when the pair locked horns in last year's Yorkshire Oaks and both have gone on to prove their class with Group One victories since. Midday won the Middleton Stakes at York on her first start of the year before chasing home St Nicholas Abbey in the Coronation Cup, and her jockey is confident she can return to winning ways at the Curragh.

Big clash

"The clash of the weekend must be Midday vs Snow Fairy in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh," Queally said in his column on www.racinguk.com. "It's Midday's third run of the season, and she's shown she's every bit as good as ever, having had to give weight away to win at York and then being caught close home in the Coronation Cup. "She beat Snow Fairy three lengths in the Yorkshire Oaks last year and hopefully that will be the case again here. "Snow Fairy improved no end as the year went on but I think this looks a great opportunity for Midday and I think she has a massive chance."
