Marcus Tregoning is leaning towards a trip to the Dubai Carnival rather than the Cambridgshire for Boom And Bust.
The four-year-old notched a fifth career victory in the totesport Mile at Glorious Goodwood last time and while he is entered for the Newmarket feature on September 24, Tregoning is far from sure he will line up.
He said: "We were absolutely delighted with him at Goodwood. For some reason he's taken a long time to really get going, but it was good to get a big win with him last time.
"He's had a nice break since Goodwood and we might prepare him for the Dubai Carnival if gets an invite, which we think he might.
"He's entered in the Cambridgeshire, but I really haven't decided on it. I'm not sure it's the right race for him.
"We will have to see what the ground is like, but I haven't made a decision."
Hayley Turner rode Boom And Bust at Goodwood and has also won on him on two other occasions this term, but should Tregoning opt to tackle the Cambridgeshire, he would not be worried about her absence from the saddle as she continues to recover from a broken ankle.
Dual Group One-winning rider Turner was hurt when the Tregoning-trained Rose Aurora reared up and fell on the way to the start at Bath last week.
Tregoning said: "It is a shame for Hayley but Martin Dwyer and a couple of others have ridden him in the past so I wouldn't be too concerned.
"It is disappointing for us as well as Hayley, as she has been doing so well for us this year. Hopefully she will still want to ride our horses when she's recovered next season!"
Boom And Bust is a general 20-1 chance for the Cambridgeshire.
