Treasure Beach left in front too long in the Arc

Aidan O'Brien is hopeful that Treasure Beach can leave a disappointing Arc run behind him in the Pattison Canadian International at Woodbine on Sunday. The Secretariat Stakes winner weakened rapidly after making much of the running at Longchamp and O'Brien admits things did not work out on the day. The Ballydoyle handler is unsure whether his charge has fully recovered from his French exertions, but is able to report confidence from those travelling with the colt across the Atlantic. "Treasure Beach is in good form. It's only a couple of weeks after the Arc," said O'Brien. "The intention wasn't to make the running (in the Arc). The intention was to jump and sit second but he just got left in front longer than he would have liked. "He ran disappointingly but we think that's the reason. He was in front a long time and it just didn't work on the day. "He's in good form and he's a hardy horse. "You're never sure after coming back from the Arc and then travelling all the way to Canada, but the lads were very happy with him, so we'd be hopeful."

Raiding Party

A strong raiding party also includes Cumberland Lodge one-two Quest For Peace and Arctic Cosmos, Charlie Hills-trained course and distance winner Redwood, Gary Moore's Bronze Cannon and Joshua Tree from the Marco Botti stable. There are a number of British-trained runners in the EP Taylor Stakes on the same card. Roger Charlton sends Sea Of Heartbreak on the long journey and she is joined by David Simcock's I'm A Dreamer and the Brian Meehan-trained Strawberrydaiquiri. Mike de Kock's Mahbooba is another interesting participant.
