Trainer targets another big sales pot with Wood ace

Richard Hannon is keen to forget Rougemont's effort in the Classic Trial at Sandown on Saturday which was run on very testing going. Having taking a valuable sales race at Newmarket on his previous start in impressive style, the Julie Wood-owned clot was fancied to run a big race. However, like so many at the Esher venue at the weekend, he got stuck in the mud and will be given a bit of a break. "The jockeys reckoned that it was only just raceable, and clearly Rougemont did not go in the ground as well as we hoped he would," Hannon told www.richardhannonracing.tv. "We will freshen him up and run him again on a better surface. "There is another big sales race coming up at Newmarket, or we could have a look at the Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot."
