Filly set for a rest after giving her all in the Falmouth
Giofra won't be attempting to follow up her Falmouth Stakes victory in the Markel Insurance Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood unless there's a late change of plan.
French trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre feels the three-week gap from Newmarket's July meeting is not enough and is, instead, targeting Deauville later next month where she could run in either the Prix Jacques le Marois or the Prix Jean Romanet.
"She's come back well from the race, but I'm not sure if she's going to Goodwood as three weeks is not enough between the two races," Royer-Dupre told At The Races.
"Maybe we will engage her in the Prix Jacques le Marois or the Jean Romanet. We have to decide, but she is a really good filly.
"After the Prix Ganay (in April) I took my time with her and did not run her in the Prix d'Ispahan and waited for the Falmouth Stakes.
"It was good for the filly because she had time to be very fresh.
"In the Falmouth Stakes she gave all she had and I think it could be better to wait two or three weeks more."
