The five-year-old looked a star in the making last term when winning the Stewards' Cup off top weight and finishing an unlucky third in the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock.
However, he has has endured an indifferent 2012 so far, finishing fifth over six furlongs in the Duke of York Stakes on his reappearance before failing to shine over seven at Newmarket.
While Mick Easterby's charge is entered on the Knavesmire, the trainer's son David does not think he is likely to make the line-up.
"He's cantering away but I don't think we'll make York, although you never know," he said.
"He's got other options at Haydock and Ascot."
