Master Of The Hounds made a winning debut for William Haggas in the valuable International Topkapi Trophy at Veliefendi in Turkey.
The four year old was racing in the colours of last year's successful owner, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, and having his first start for the Newmarket handler since leaving the care of Mike de Kock.
Settled in second behind Fast Stars Line, the Kingmambo colt - who had finished third in the Racing Post Trophy in 2010 for Aidan O'Brien - stayed on strongly from the quarter-mile pole in the hands of Christophe Soumillon, with the post coming in time to hold off Frankie Dettori on Brian Meehan's Archbishop.
After running in the Queen Anne Stakes and Jacques le Marois, the German-trained Indomito enjoyed the drop in grade to finish third with Fast Stars Line faring best of the home team in fourth.
Red Duke was dropped in towards the rear early from his wide draw but flew home once switched wide to finish fifth on debut for David Simcock while Van Ellis came home in eighth.
