Irish trip on the cards for promising youngster

No Jet Lag is likely to bypass the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday in favour of a trip to Ireland a day earlier. Not disgraced in a Newmarket maiden won by the exciting Ghurair on debut, David Lanigan's juvenile impressed at Lingfield and Redcar before finding Ashdan too strong in a conditions race at Doncaster's St Leger meeting. With Ashdan featuring among a red-hot field for this weekend's Group One test at Headquarters, Lanigan is favouring a trip to Dundalk for No Jet Lag for a Listed prize on Friday evening. Lanigan said: "I think we'll probably go to Dundalk. The ground is a bit of a concern at Newmarket.

Logical Step

"We might have give it a go if the Dewhurst was a bit easier, but it looks like Ashdan will run there and Jim Bolger's horse (Dawn Approach) is there as well, so it's a really hot race. "Our horse has won on Polytrack so it's a logical step to go to Dundalk. "He went to Doncaster to win but he just came up against a better horse on the day. "The ground was on the quick side and he came back a bit touchy on his shins. He hung across the track and that is not something he's ever done before. "He soon recovered though and he's in good form now, so we'll see how he gets on. "If everything went well on Friday, he could then go on to the Horris Hill Stakes at Newbury at the end of the month."
