Kerrin McEvoy has expressed his sadness ahead of Tuesday's Emirates Melbourne Cup that he will not be on the same side as Frankie Dettori for much longer.

Kerrin McEvoy expressed his sadness that he will not be on the same side as Frankie Dettori for much longer as the pair prepare to compete for perhaps the final time together as Godolphin companions in Tuesday's Emirates Melbourne Cup.
The South Australian spent nearly five seasons as Dettori's number two in Britain before returning home to ride as the main rider for Sheikh Mohammed's powerful set-up Down Under.
It was recently announced Dettori was splitting with Godolphin to become a freelance next year but he will be in Flemington next week for the mount on Cavalryman, while McEvoy will be aboard Lost In The Moment provided he makes the cut.
"It's a real shame Frankie and Godolphin parted company, I'm very sad for him," said McEvoy.
"It has been a great partnership and I hope he rides many more winners."
He went on: "It had been going on so long, it was like a marriage, and I hope one of us can get a Melbourne Cup winner.
"Frankie was a great help when I came over, showing me the ropes in the UK day in, day out. He has a real knack of being able to enjoy life, but to switch on when he has to."
Lost In The Moment is currently a couple below the 24-runner cut-off point, but much can change with potential drop-outs as well as winners of several races on Saturday's Flemington card potentially earning themselves a run.
Sixth in last year's Cup under William Buick, Saeed Bin Suroor's entire took a while to come to himself this season but finished third in his most recent two outings in the Lonsdale Cup and Jockey Club Rose Bowl.
McEvoy, who took the race on Brew in 2000, said: "He ran creditably last year and if he comes in his best form, he has a chance of making the top six to eight.
"If he gets luck in running, he has a chance of top three. His last two runs have been an improvement and he can run well, but you need a bit of luck to win."
