Red Cadeaux is reported to have settled in well in Japan since arriving on Saturday ahead of a second bid at the Tenno Sho (Spring) at Kyoto on May 4.

Ed Dunlop's popular eight-year-old was transported to quarantine facilities at Miki Horse Land Park ahead of his second crack at the two mile Group One prize having finished a three and a quarter length third 12 months ago.

Regular travelling companion Robin Trevor-Jones is once again overseeing prepartions and told www.japanracing.jp that the journey went smoothly. "It was an eight-hour flight from the United Arab Emirates. It was a long trip but there were no particular problems."

Trevor-Jones, who also accompanied Snow Fairy to Japan on two occasions, said plans were to give Red Cadeaux only light work while at the quarantine facilities.

On Sunday, Red Cadeaux did not go onto the track but was only led out. "He's in good shape, has a good appetite and I think he's relaxed," said Trevor-Jones. Plans were to bring Red Cadeaux out on the track Monday for a look-see and "only a bit of trotting."

The Tenno Sho is Japan's longest Group One Flat race at two miles. Open to four-year-olds and up, the race is held at the right-handed Kyoto Racecourse and carries a purse of nearly 275 million yen, with a winner's share of 132 million yen.
