Adam Kirby has been handed a 19-day ban, six of which will be deferred for six weeks, for his winning ride on Es Que Love at Goodwood last week.
Kirby was before the disciplinary panel of the British Horseracing Authority as the offence was his fifth of its type in a six-month period.
He was found to have used his whip in an incorrect place and that the offence would have warranted a four-day ban.
Taking into account his five previous breaches of the whip rule since February 27 and that he'd had 522 rides in this period, he was handed the 19-day ban, with six deferred until October 8.
The initial suspension will run from August 15-27 inclusive, meaning he will be absent from the Ebor meeting at York.
