Wannabe in line for autumn campaign

Connections of Wannabe Yours are contemplating September options for the exciting colt following his impressive victory at Glorious Goodwood.
John Gosden three-year-old has graduated from a Nottingham maiden to win a Doncaster handicap and, most recently, the Group Three Thoroughbred Stakes in which he showed thrilling acceleration, despite jockey William Buick dropping his whip.
Owner-breeder Philippa Cooper is adamant her charge will be even better with another winter under his belt.
She said: "I was thrilled with the way he came through to win on the line, especially with William dropping his whip.
"I always feel sorry for the loser when you win on the line. We've lost many races that way and it's really hard to take.
"I don't think the ground was ideal for our horse. It was more courage than anything that got him through and we know he handles softer ground very well, so he should be able to perform in the autumn.
"I spoke to John about him (on Tuesday morning) and I think we're looking towards September for him, not nothing is set in stone.
"He won't be running in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood. He isn't entered and I'm not really into supplementing. I also think it will come too soon.
"He's from a backward family so I'm surprised he's achieved as much as he has as a three-year-old.
"I think next year will be his year."
