Louie De Palma is unlikely to take up his entry in the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Gimcrack Stakes at York on Saturday week.
Trainer Clive Cox looks likely to give the youngster a little breathing space following his run in the Group Two Richmond Stakes at Goodwood where he was second to the speedy Ivawood.
The son of Pastoral Pursuits, who has a host of fancy entries in the autumn, had won both his previous starts and Cox was pleased with his latest performance against such a smart two-year-old.
"He's unlikely to run in the Gimcrack. We're probably going to give him a bit more time," said the Lambourn handler.
"I'm pleased with the progress he's made. It was no disappointment to finish second to Ivawood. He's a horse that continues progressing and we're very pleased with him.
"We're going to sit tight for a little while, but he's unlikely to run in the Gimcrack.
"We'll decide about the trip as we move along."
The Dubai Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket in October remains the prime target for stablemate Kodi Bear.
The son of Kodiac looked a colt full of promise when opening his account in the Listed Winkfield Stakes at Ascot last month.
"Kodi Bear is fine. That was a competitive Listed race he won last time," said Cox.
"He's got plenty of size and scope about him.
"It's been well documented we intend to take a patient approach with him and that is still very much the plan.
"He's a horse we'll be looking towards the Dewhurst with and working back from there."
