Trainer Tracey Collins is looking forward to saddling Captain Joy in the Ladbrokes All-Weather Mile Championships at Lingfield on Good Friday after an encouraging prep run at Dundalk.

The six-year-old showed his well-being, despite being short of room at a crucial stage, when going down by half a length to Paene Magnus.

It was his first run since he booked his place at Lingfield with victory in a fast-track qualifier in January.

"He came out of the race very well. The race might not have gone his way, but it was a stepping stone," said the Curragh handler.

"If he'd have landed it, it would have been happy days, but our main aim is to get him as well as we can for Lingfield."

Majestic Queen could make her seasonal reappearance in the Big Bad Bob Gladness Stakes at the Curragh on April 19.

Collins is hoping the five-year-old mare, who defeated Joyeuse in the Ballyogan Stakes at Leopardstown last summer, will be able to take her chance in the Group Three contest over seven furlongs.

"She's come back to us and has wintered very well," said the trainer.

"Hopefully we'll get her right to go for the Gladness."
