Beast Of Burden could be pitched into Graded company at Newbury next Thursday as he looks to get his career over fences back on track.
The lightly-raced six-year-old failed to complete on his chasing debut at Chepstow last month after unseating Paul Townend at the penultimate fence, when still holding every chance.
Trainer Rebecca Curtis said: "It was a silly, novicey mistake he made at Chepstow.
"He had slightly sore muscles afterwards, but he seems fine now.
"Hopefully he will have learnt from that. He has schooled well since then.
"He may go to Newbury next week for the Grade Two.
"It is a case of whether we do that or try win a smaller race at Bangor over three miles a week on Saturday.
"He will be a good novice this season and he should still improve again next season as he is a big, tall horse that is still growing and filling out."
