Elsworth sets sights on Royal Ascot triumph

Stubbs Art, third in the English and Irish versions of the 2000 Guineas, will bid to go two places better when he makes an appearance at Royal Ascot next week. Trained by David Elsworth, the son of Hawk Wing pleased connections as he engaged in some exercise on Newmarket's July course on Wednesday morning. Elsworth said: "It was just a friendly bit of work but everything went well and we're happy. We'll be coming to Ascot now." Stubbs Art belied a price tag of 100-1 when taking third at Newmarket in early May but finished further behind Henrythenavigator when occupying the same placing in the Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh. Aidan O'Brien's dual Guineas hero is an odds-on chance for the St James's Palace Stakes on Tuesday, in which Stubbs Art will again take him on.
