No current plans for King George runner-up

The future of Madison Du Berlais is currently up in the air following his second-placed finish behind Kauto Star in the King George VI Chase at Kempton. The David Pipe-trained nine-year-old stayed on from the rear to finish runner-up in the Boxing Day fixture, crossing the line some 36 lengths behind the spectacular four-time victor. Pipe, who was thrilled to see Madison come second to the star chaser, revealed no plans have yet been laid for the 2008 Hennessy Gold Cup winner. "He's fine after his last race but we have no plans as to where we are going at the present moment. I need to discuss it with the owners," said Pipe. "It was a good performance. To finish second to Kauto Star is a fantastic run. "He (Madison Du Berlais) always has a bit of a flat spot in his races. He had his flat spot and stayed on."
