Dan Skelton's Ladbroke winner Willow's Saviour is likely to be ready for a novice chasing debut in around October.

The chestnut provided the rookie trainer with his biggest success to date when taking the valuable Ascot handicap back in December, but he was kept out of the rest of the season through injury.

"He looks fantastic," said Skelton.

"He looks bigger and better. I'm not saying he's definitely better, but if we're going into the big novice chases he's going to be going against horses like Ptit Zig, who he beat in the Ladbroke, he's going to need to have improved 16 or 17lb.

"What I'd like to do is find a little novice chase before the early-closing races like the Greatwood Hurdle, so he can be entered if it looks like chasing's not an option."
