Marcus Tregoning warns Askar Tau may need the run in Wednesday's totesport.com "Further Flight" Stakes at Nottingham.

He is making his seasonal reappearance at Colwick Park but after a 2010 interrupted by injury, the trainer feels he'll need his first run.

"He usually needs a run to put him straight as it is quite difficult to get him straight at home. He's straight enough for a run but hopefully he'll come on for it," said Tregoning.

"I've done what I can with him but a run will definitely sharpen him and most of mine will be like that for the moment - it will be another couple of weeks before they are fully fit, I think.

"One thing in his favour is the ground, the louder the rattle the better for him.

"George Baker rides him for the first time and I think he's a very good jockey, I think he'll get on with him extremely well.

"As long as he runs OK I'll be looking forward to the Sagaro Stakes (Ascot) with him and stepping him up in trip because he stays all day."
