Prix de l'Abbaye hero Wizz Kid bids to follow up in the Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.

The French raider, trained by Robert Collet, got up close home to deny Mayson at Longchamp earlier this month.

The four-year-old is among a field of 15 for the Group Two contest over six furlongs in which he was runner-up 12 months ago to the sidelined Deacon Blues.

There is a second cross-Channel challenger in the shape of Henri-Alex Pantall's Restiadargent, who was third to Australian super mare Black Caviar in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes over the course and distance at the Royal meeting.

Opposition to the French pair include Society Rock, who could only finish 12th in this race last year.

However, James Fanshawe's charge returns to the Berkshire track on the back of a Group One success in the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock.

Ireland are represented by Edward Lynam's progressive three-year-old Slade Power and David Nagle's consistent five-year-old Maarek.

Other familiar sprinters taking their chance are Hawkeyethenoo, Jimmy Styles, Libranno, Medicean Man and The Cheka.
