Tom George: Hopes Majala continues to progress
Tom George is hoping Majala can continue on an upward curve in the Racing Post Arkle Trophy Trial Novices' Chase at Warwick on Saturday.
The former French-trained gelding made just an average start to his career on this side of the English Channel last season but has done nothing wrong so far this term.
Now after wins at Taunton and Haydock, he bids to complete a hat-trick in this Grade Two contest, formerly known as the Kingmaker Novices' Chase.
"He's now got the hang of jumping in this country and he does love soft ground, he's done everything we've asked of him in his last two races," Slad-based George told At The Races.
"He's got a second preference (in the Game Spirit Chase) at Newbury in case something went wrong, but I can't see why Warwick won't be on.
"I wonder if he's slightly better on a flat track. It's difficult to make an opinion on him just at the moment.
"I've got that in my mind and if Aintree might suit him better (than Cheltenham). We will just wait and see how he gets on tomorrow and take it from there."
Among his five rivals is the Paul Nicholls-trained Fago, who impressed on his first run outside France when winning at Newbury last month.
