Prince Of Scars and Alpha Des Obeaux could meet in the Drinmore

Alpha Des Obeaux is on course for the Bar One Racing Drinmore Novice Chase at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

The six-year-old has won his last two starts over fences, with trainer Mouse Morris keen to pitch last season's World Hurdle runner-up back into Grade One class.

"He's in good form and he'll run in the Drinmore," said Morris, who watched Alpha Des Obeaux work in the hands of David Mullins at his County Tipperary base on Tuesday morning.

Gordon Elliott won the race 12 months ago with No More Heroes and could have a strong team, with classy Galway scorer Diamond King one of four entries for the County Meath handler.

Elliott has also left in A Toi Phil, who has made a deep impression since he went chasing, Lieutenant Colonel and Prince Of Scars.

Road To Respect defeated the latter on his chasing bow at Naas on November 12 and is one of two Noel Meade entries, the other being Disko.

Anibale Fly, who struck first time over fences at Navan in the JP McManus silks, still holds an entry for Tony Martin.

McManus could fire a second shot across the bows in the shape of Eddie Harty's Coney Island, a Grade One runner-up over hurdles, but champion trainer Willie Mullins is not represented.
