Al Kazeem: Windsor hopeful

Roger Charlton is treating Saturday evening's 188Bet Winter Hill Stakes at Windsor as just another stepping stone for Al Kazeem.

Last year's three-time Group One winner returned to the racecourse after proving sub-fertile at stud and made his long-awaited comeback in a Listed race at Newbury last month.

He finished a close fourth to Amralah, who has gone on to win again since.

"At home he is a very happy and willing worker but it has surprised me how hard it has been to get him back to full fitness," the trainer told

"As horses get older they tend to get more relaxed and lazy in their work. He is in terrific shape and his race at Newbury has brought him forward, but there should be more improvement to come."

Marco Botti takes the wraps off another of his recruits from Australia, Bayrir, who won the Secretariat Stakes at Arlington for his initial trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre.

True Story represents Godolphin while Gifted Girl attempts to make amends for a luckless recent run at Salisbury.

The Jeremy Noseda-trained Grandeur, who was last seen in Britain winning the main event on Lingfield's Good Friday card, is a significant non-runner.
