Dessie Hughes: Trains Our Conor
Our Conor made it two from two over hurdles when claiming Grade Three honours at Fairyhouse.
The Dessie Hughes-trained three-year-old backed up an easy success at Navan three weeks by denying Stocktons Wing in the Bar One Racing Juvenile 3-Y-O Hurdle.
Bryan Cooper's mount was nudged into the lead four out but found Brog Deas a willing foe until that rival faded two flights from home.
Stocktons Wing then came out of the pack under Mark Walsh, but was two and a half lengths away at the line.
Cooper said of the 8/11 favourite: "He has a good technique - I was very impressed with him. He's going in the right direction."
Hughes said: "He's a good leaper and has a good turn of foot. He ran on better ground on the Flat and that was no bother to him.
"He may go to Leopardstown at Christmas - there's no reason why he wouldn't. He's a natural."
When asked whether Our Conor could be a Triumph Hurdle horse, Hughes said: "I think you'd have to say he is."Sky Bet cut Our Conor to 16/1 from 20s for the JCB Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
