Master Overseer (right): Battled on well at Cheltenham

Master Overseer (11/1) was all guts in the Majordomo Hospitality Handicap Chase as he got the better of Quartz de Thaix at Cheltenham on Friday.

David Pipe's nine year old bowled along out in front under Tom Scudamore along with Gigginstown Stud's Crash, who lived up to his name in the late stages with a heavy fall.

That left Master Overseer out in front and it was left to Venetia Williams' Quartz de Thaix to give him most to do on the run-in.

The eventual runner-up got his nose in front on the famous incline but Master Overseer battled back bravely to regain the lead and he was three-quarters-of-a-length in front at the line.

Planet Of Sound ran very well 10 lengths back in third while 15/8 favourite Bradley was always behind, couldn't get competitive and finished a never-nearer fifth.
