Paul Nicholls: Trains Sametegal
Sametegal ran out an unchallenged winner of the John Smith's Scottish Triumph Hurdle Trial at Musselburgh following the fall of market rival Kashmir Peak.
The ring eventually send the Paul Nicholls-trained winner off as the 5/4 market leader and the four year old was moving strongly on the heels of the tearaway leader Titus Bolt when the race changed complexion.
Kashmir Peak was a few lengths adrift but Dougie Costello had his rival firmly in his sights when his mount got the fourth last all wrong and came down.
That left Sametegal to make the best of his way home with none of the remainder able to get close to the Daryl Jacob-ridden winner.
Docs Legacy was next past the post, finishing eight lengths adrift.
The winner was cut to 16/1 from 33s for the JCB Triumph Hurdle in March, a race in which stablemate Far West is vying for favouritism.
