Numide (right) overhauls Aigle D'Or.
Numide (5-1) just came out on top in a thrilling battle with Aigle D'Or in the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle.
Pigeon Island tried to make all under Paddy Brennan and he was still in front coming to the second last but they were lining up in behind to challenge with Aigle D'Or travelling particularly well.
Tony McCoy duly made his move aboard Nicky Henderson's charge but Jamie Moore followed him through on Numide with Squadron trying to challenge between the duo.
The three were in a line at the last but Numide and Aigle D'Or pulled clear with the former making good use of his lighter weight, although the runner up fought back close home to go down by just a head.
Sky Bet introduced the front two into their Champion Hurdle betting at 40/1 and 25/1 respectively.
"I said before the race that he would either win or be last," said the winning rider.
"He's quirky but he loves soft ground and he had no weight today.
"I was was trying to tell Dad to go to Leicester on Monday with him but he told me to forget that.
"Me and Dad thought he was the best handicapped horse in world if he puts it all in and he travelled like a dream today."
