Fiepes Shuffle added to the European rash of Kempton turn-ups when striking gold for Germany in the Desert Orchid Chase.

The game appeared up for the Christian Von Der Recke-trained 16-1 shot when he was half a length down to Petit Robin at the last.

But Jamie Moore's mount refused to down tools and battled back quite gallantly to take the Stan James-sponsored Grade Two heat by three-quarters of a length.

Twist Magic, the 13-8 favourite, was never a factor at the business end.

Sky Bet reacted by introducing the winner to their Champion Chase market at 20-1 and cut favourite Master Minded to 4-9 from 4-7.

Von Der Recke said: "This is a track that suits front-runners and in a way falling last time (Tingle Creek) made him jump better as he wasn't as mad at his fences.

"He could go to Cheltenham and I have been told there is a race back here over two miles on February 8."
