Edward O'Grady's decision to test Catch Me over three miles in the woodiesdiy.com Christmas Hurdle failed to provide a definite answer as to his staying credentials with the 4-6 favourite having to survive a stewards' inquiry to succeed at Leopardstown.

His only other try at the trip resulted in a fifth-placed finish at the Punchestown Festival and a slow early pace failed to aid his cause this time.

Andrew McNamara led before the final flight but crossed over into the path of Whatuthink on the run-in, with officials taking 20 minutes to decide that his head success stood.

Coral left the six-year-old unchanged at 25-1 for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle, for which Nicky Henderson's Punchestowns heads the ante-post market.

O'Grady said: "I don't think Nicky Henderson will lose a lot of sleep after that.

"He is an ex-Flat horse and has always idled in front. He looked like he was going to win two lengths there but idled in front, and wasn't being stoked up.

"I'll run him over two and a half miles next in the Boyne Hurdle, and then make a decision about Cheltenham."
