Redford scoots home at Ascot.
Redford followed up last week's Ayr Gold Cup triumph with a convincing success in the totesport.com Challenge Cup (Heritage Handicap) at Ascot.
Dettori, completing a double after his win on White Moonstone in the previous race, brought the David Nicholls-trained five-year-old with a well-timed run.
Leading inside the final furlong, the 7-1 favourite quickly went clear to score a length and three-quarters from Side Glance. Imperial Guest was a length back in third with Golden Desert fourth.
Dettori said: "It's great when it comes off and again I followed the right horses.
"The split came at the right time. I managed to get behind Seb Sanders (riding Imperial Guest), he opened up the race for me and when I pressed the button, off he went.
"You've got to say well done to Dandy Nicholls. To win two handicaps like this in the space of a week is remarkable."
Stephen Hillen, who purchased Redford on behalf of owner Dr Marwan Koukash. said: "He's in the Challenge Stakes and when I bought him I always thought he would stay a mile.
"I think he could get a mile going round a bend so we would have to keep the Hong Kong Mile in mind as well."
