Khor Sheed got the better of Tale Untold in a thrilling finish to the £100,000 Tattersalls Millions Fillies' Auction Stakes at Newmarket.

The former was sent off at 7-2 after finishing third behind the smart White Moonstone at the track last month and was given a confident ride by Kieren Fallon.

It looked a matter of by how far she would win heading inside the final furlong, but Tale Untold proved a tough nut to crack and Fallon had to be at his strongest to ensure Khor Sheed was a short-head victor at the line.

The disappointment of the race was 7-4 favourite Warm Breeze, who raced handily in the early stages before dropping out very quickly to finish tailed off.

Cumani said: "Kieren said that she came to it a little too soon and was idling in front but she is a filly who is developing nicely.

"I will talk to the owner, but I imagine that she will go for a Group race over six furlongs next."

(reopens) It was to prove another good day at the office for St Leger-winning rider William Buick, who rattled off a late three-timer thanks to Up In Time (15-2), Rain Mac (4-1) and Liberty Cap (20-1).

Rain Mac and Libery Cap are both trained by Buick's boss, John Gosden.
