McCain - on target at Chepstow.
Any Given Day was a runaway winner of the totesport 0800 221 221 Silver Trophy Handicap Hurdle at Chepstow in the hands of 7lb claimer Henry Brooke.
Donald McCain's charge swept to the front three out and was in command from that point.
There was a scare when he clattered through the next flight of hurdles but he proceeded to pull further clear of his toiling rivals.
Another mistake at the last did little to halt his momentum and he went on to slam Dantari by ten lenghts.
Restless Harry was third, running well on his seasonal reappearance.
McCain said: "That was magic. I guess those mistakes late on were because Henry probably didn't know whether to keep sending him or look after him, but it was all over.
"He's a likeable, genuine, tough little horse. I have a soft spot for him - he's such a pleasure to train.
"It's great for Henry, too. He's come through well since the start of the season."
