Blazing Bailey (9-2) followed up his New Year's Day success at Cheltenham with a gutsy effort in the williamhill.com Handicap Chase at Ffos Las.

Alan King's nine-year-old saw off Minella Four Star by two lengths under Wayne Hutchinson.

King, who was at Sandown where he enjoyed a double, said: "I didn't see the race, but they tell me he battled on well.

"He could be a horse for the William Hill Chase (at Cheltenham) or another big staying chase like the Scottish National, although you would be a little worried that the ground might dry up too much for him there."

Sacre bleu! Another for Henderson

Nicky Henderson and Barry Geraghty took the williamhill.com Novices' Hurdle with Sprinter Sacre.

The 2-9 shot went on before two and pulled away to score by 10 lengths from Sorcillera.

"Sprinter Sacre is very good and will get even better. He's big baby, but a very good one," said Henderson.

"We have some good novices, but Barry likes him and I suspect he thinks he might be the best of them."
