Colm Murphy's popular mare Voler La Vedette readily landed the Grade Two Ladbrokes.com Boyne Hurdle at Navan.

Held-up at the back of a tightly grouped field in her usual stalking role by Andrew Lynch, she could always be seen travelling strongly and appeared to have plenty left in the tank when produced to challenge at the second last flight.

The seven year-old mare jinked slightly going into that obstacle but was foot-perfect at the last when jumping into the lead and only needed to be ridden out to score.

This was a welcome return to the winner's enclosure for Voler La Vedette who was gaining a deserved success having struggled to cope with the standard set by Hurricane Fly and Solwhit on each of her last three starts.

Lynch said: "That's only my third ride for Colm and Voler La Vedette travelled really well over today's two-mile-five-furlong trip.

"Two miles is probably a bit too sharp for her and she was finding it easier to travel today. I was always confident she would pick up when I needed to ask her."

Murphy's father Pat Murphy added: "Voler La Vedette is not going to Cheltenham and we'll concentrate on Fairyhouse and Punchestown instead.''
