Resurge gets the better of Right Step.
Resurge (8-1) flew home under Fergus Sweeney to land the Investec Investment Stakes at Epsom.
The Stuart Kittow-trained horse registered his third win over the course and distance despite looking like having plenty to do with three furlongs to go.
Right Step (9-2) finished a lenghth and a quarter back in second with John Gosden's Dhaamer (5-1) a further length and a half behind in third.
Sweeney said: "The last couple of times he's been a bit slow to stride and I wasn't where I wanted to be.
"I just had to sit and suffer and hope that they'd gone quick enough up front that they'd come back. He picked up well.
"He seems to love the place and really raises his game when he comes round here."
Winning trainer Kittow added: "It's fantastic. The horse just loves it here.
"I don't know whether it's because he can get his breath back coming down the hill and surge up the straight. I don't know, but I don't mind!
"I was a little bit worried to begin with as he was a bit slowly away, as he was at York last time.
"He had a lot of work today, but he's found it from somewhere."
