Boom And Bust (l): Battles to victory at Goodwood
Boom And Bust made most of the running to win the totesport Mile at Glorious Goodwood.
Hayley Turner is now three-from-three aboard Marcus Tregoning's charge and she took advantage of her plum draw in stall one and made much of the running.
The partnership had most of their rivals in trouble two out but dangers did emerge.
Proponent (14-1) threw down the last - and most determined - challenge but he was still a neck adrift of the 22-1 winner at the line.
Pintura (18-1) was third and Soorah (14-1) fourth. Green Destiny was sent off the 15-8 favourite but was never a factor having been outpaced at a crucial stage.
Dance And Dance finished fifth despite being hampered 100 yards from the line and was unfortunate not to be placed.
Just weeks after her first Group One winner, Turner was opening her account at Glorious Goodwood.
"It's going very well this year," she said.
"I think stall one was a big bonus and he's improving. I've won three out of three on him now.
"I think you have to be quite decisive from that draw as you don't want to get swamped. He really enjoys bowling along in front as he settles well.
"I don't know what was going on behind and I think I was in the best place.
"Mr Tregoning always seems to do well at Goodwood."
The winning trainer added: "It was a very good ride again from Hayley.
"It's been a tough year but racing is like that, you just have to get on with it.
"Last time we ran him in a Listed race but he just fell short of that.
"I bought him myself for not very much money and it's a first winner at Goodwood for the owners so it's great."
