Pink Symphony: Cork winner
David Wachman's Pink Symphony landed a dramatic Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F.Give Thanks Stakes at Cork.
The winner came down the centre of the track under Joseph O'Brien and picked up the lead with just 50 yards to run, eventually winning quite well at 8-1.
O'Brien was replacing the injured Jamie Spencer on the Fitri Hay-owned filly, who was making her debut for David Wachman, having previously been in the care of Paul Cole.
Wachman said: "That's Joseph's first winner for me. He gave her a great ride. "It's a great way to start with her. I've only had her four to six weeks. She was quite smart for Paul Cole over in England.
"She has been Group- and Listed-race placed over there. She maintained her form and didn't have to improve to win.
"She's a grand, straightforward filly and likes reasonable ground.
"I'll step her up in grade and trip. She stays one-mile-four to one-mile-six very well."
John Oxx's Haziyna finished second (11-4), whilst Aidan O'Brien's Amazing Beauty (16-1) back in third.
Amazing Beauty's stablemate Spin was badly hampered with a furlong to run, whilst Unity and Negotiate both held every chance when the incident occurred but both were eventually well-held.
