Golan Way (12/1) made all the running to land an eventful Sportingbet Future Stars Chase at Sandown.

Sheena West's front-runner had Quinz for company in the early stages but was left alon in front once that runner dropped away, as Philip Hobbs' charge was pulled-up before the pond.

Golan Way continued to jump well out in front and there were plenty of reserves left when challenged by eventual runner-up Benbane Head (4-1) in the home straight, with over three lengths between the pair at the line.

West said: "That was a pleasure to watch. We know it's there but we were just waiting for him to show it.

"We've given him an entry in the King George. It wasn't haphazard but he had to show something today and so he'll go there now."

Jessica Harrington is planning to put the headgear on Bostons Angel next time.

She said: "He wasn't concentrating so we will put a pair of blinkers on him next time and he will go for the Lexus."

Jessica Harrington's Bostons Angel tried to stay on in third but his jumping let him down throughout and he was eventually comfrotably held, having been driven along for a long way.

Paul Nicholls' Royal Charm was well-backed but made some early jumping errors and a bad mistake at the sixth-last fence saw him crumple to the floor and deposit jockey Ruby Walsh on the turf.
